KCCA PAINTS MAKERERE ROADS BLACK
By Kariuki Joseph
The reopening of Makerere University in early January came with a surprise to many especially the students who were used to potholed and dusty roads around the campus. Most of the untarmacked roads were muddy during rainy seasons while the potholed became impassableand it became even worse during rainy seasons. If not careful, most of the students walking along these roads would get splashed with water by careless drivers.
DOOMED INSTITUTION Struggle for the key; A great mission is accomplished A warrior spirits high and a dreamer walks through the gates; The mighty dreams maker they say’ High hopes of shedding mediocrity; pick the dress code of polished and whole baked profession TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK……….Half past the term limit A soldier still in the dream world ‘my dream still valid……’ goes the slogan Only to follow suit of armature comrades A point of no return clocks with less achievements to merry for First class tower a million miles away; ONLY echoes from the chosen few For the alien soldier, shattered dreams and mixed feelings remains his blanket to sleep on Come back home soldier, DOOMED institution will do you no good. PARENTS NEED TO HEAR THIS….
Parents sacrifice a lot to see you through campus education. Some go to an extra mile of securing loans to ensure that their sons and daughters lack nothing during their dream chase.
What they don’t know is that, after dropping them at the campus gate their sons and daughters unmask themselves and undress the saint code they put on at home to be picked exactly at that point when the semester ends. Their lifestyle takes a twist and everything including their names change. Thanks to campus swag which consume them and make them feel as if they own the whole world.
I’m 100% your parents will get simultaneous heart attacks if they have a glimpse of things you do; you remember when your dad called and you hang up only to call him an hour later with an excuse that you were in a group discussion.
